Pizza Review

While I was trying these pizza's for our pizza lab that we had I compared the texture, taste, color, aroma and the overall appearance. There was three different kinds of pizza that we had tried, there was a Home made pizza, a pizza that was made with pre-made crust and the last that we had to try was a store bought pizza, Roma Pizza. I have filled out a chart on all of the components of these pizzas.

The first pizza that I tried was the store bought pizza, when I had first saw this pizza it was not appealing to me at all. It looked shriveled and bubbly. When I had to rate this texture I rated it at a 2, meaning that it was slightly hard. It tasted very crunchy and burnt and along with the taste the color was very dark. Lastly I rated the aroma at a 2 as well meaning that it was moderately acceptable.

The second pizza that I had tried was the pre-made crusted pizza. When I had first saw this pizza it was a lot more appealing than the first I had seen, the pizza looked very crisp and the cheese was bubbled. The aroma of this pizza I rated as a 2, I said this because I think it could have been a lot better than it was. The taste of this pizza was sharp and greasy, the color was lightly browned. I gave this pizza's texture a 2 out of 3 because this one was also slightly hard.

The last pizza that I had tried was the home-made pizza. When I had seen this pizza it was very appealing to me, it looked bubbly and golden brown. The taste was fresh and moist and the color was brown as well. I gave the texture a 3 as long with the aroma. The texture was soft and the aroma was very appealing.

Pizza Review

When comparing pizzas, we taste tested 3 different kinds. One with a homemade white crust pizza, a pre-made crust pizza, and a frozen pizza. The homemade and pre-made crust pizzas were cheese. When comparing these pizzas it was important to look for the texture, taste, color, aroma, and overall appearance.

Homemade Pizza Crust
The homemade pizza crust was a golden brown and crisp. The spices on the pizza were delicious. It was not over powering nor not enough. The cheese on the pizza was also the right amount. Sometimes homemade pizza is to cheesy but this was the perfect amount to still be enough to taste but not to be the only thing you taste. I did think though that this pizza was a little bit too greasy.

Pre-Made Crust
The pre-made crust was flimsy and soggy. There was no way of being able to hold it like a normal pizza crust would have been. I also believed that the pale, white cheese over powered the entire pizza. It was just too puffy to be called a pizza. The aroma of the pizza however was very enticing as the smell of the cheese was very delightful.
Frozen Pizza
The frozen pizza was stale, hard, and not worth calling it a pizza. This pizza was way to card to chew, it was like chewing cardboard. The taste of the pizza was stale and flat and did not have much flavor to it as well. The only thing this pizza has going for itself is the smell. It has a great pizza aroma of cheese and sauce. But once you take that first bite and almost break your teeth, you realize it is not worth finishing.

Pizza Crust Test

Pizza is a classic dish and is sometimes hard to make by scratch. Whats even harder to make would be the crust. It takes a lot to make a thick airy crust that is appealing. We tried three different types of pizza with completely different crusts.

The first pizza crust I tried was a homemade crust. I would rate it a 9/10, it was very crispy but also light and airy. The pizza had just the right amount of cheese but also had delicious spices. The crust was a risen dough which made it all the more better. It was not soggy which surprised me because some pizzas will get mushy because of the toppings. It was a good-looking golden brown. Overall this was a great crust and pizza, I would recommend it.

The second pizza was prepared on a pre-made crust. I would rate it a 5/10. This was a pale excuse for a pizza crust. It was quite soggy and flimsy. It was almost white in color and was close to flat. It didn't have much taste either. It was almost like the pizza was made on bread. It was defiantly edible, I'll say that. I would take the time to make your own crust.

Some say to save the best for last, the saying should be save the worst for last. I give this a 1/10. I took the smallest bite of this "pizza" and did not even want to swallow it. It was literally like cardboard, smell, taste and appearance. Not sure why they still sell this in stores. It was a deep brown color with a small sprinkle of cheese and just a glaze for sauce. I would never recommend this.

Pizza Critique

Pizza Critique

In class we sampled three different types of pizza.  The three kinds of pizza were homemade, pre-made crust, and frozen.

Homemade Pizza:
This pizza earned a 9/10.  I would give it this rating because the tender, risen crust was absolutely incredible.  The bottom layer was possessed with freshness and the rich flavor made the pizza absolutely divine.  The sauce did not have too much or too little, it gave the pizza a little pop of flavor.  The smoked mozzarella just melted away on your tongue as you took a bite.  It was so creamy and rich it left you just wanting more.  The color of it was golden brown, bright tomato red and white cheese.  The really thick crust made it by far the best pizza.

Pre-Made Crust Pizza:
I would rate this pizza a 5/10.  It was alright, just not anything that screams wow.  The crust was kinda flat and it was really soggy.  The sauce was really overpowering the pizza.  It had too much of a garlic taste that I wiped the overwhelming garlic off.  The mozzarella was a little greasy and oily so I also made a point to dab off some of the grease.  The color of it was pale white crust, bold red sauce and light cheese.  Overall it was an okay pizza.

Frozen Pizza:
I would rate this pizza a 2/10.  This pizza was not appealing to me at all.  First the crust was so flat and stale and a little burnt.  The sauce was so thin, almost nothing, I barely tasted it.  The cheese on top was chunky and not good quality at all.  The color of it was a dark brown crust with red sauce and a burnt yellow cheese.  I thought it tasted a lot like cardboard.  I would definitely not recommend this pizza to anyone.

Pizza Review

Pizza Review

Jasmine Terry Hour 2

I tried three different types of pizza Homemade, Pre-made Crust, and Frozen pizza to discover which one was best best flavor, texture, and aroma.

1.) Homemade Pizza 9/10

The homemade pizza was a delicious thick oily pizza. Just looking at its toasted crust makes your mouth water. The golden crust was big fluffy risen just right and the chewiness was just excellent. It went well with the greasy cheese. The cheese on the pizza was gooey and delightful adding just the right amount to make it a near perfect pizza. The sauce was a great add of sweat but saltiness to the pizza making it even better. The aroma made an impact, you could smell the yummy sauce from far away. Every time I looked or smelled this pizza it made me want to eat pizza for the rest of my life.

2.) Pre-made Crust Pizza 8/10

The pre-made crust pizza was puffy and lumpy goodness. That yellow crust a little thinner than the homemade pizza was calling for you to eat it. It was oily but very nice to bite in just chewing that squishy crust was a taste of delight. The cheese was perfectly spread on the pizza making it more chewy and glow white. Don't get me started on the sauce. It is a great kick of sweetness to this oily pizza making it just a wonder of flavor. The taste was just so sweet but oily I had to keep eating until I was done with the piece. Its aroma was just full of greasy goodness making me want to eat it even more.

3.) Frozen Pizza 4/10

The frozen pizza didn't come close to being as good as the other two pizzas. It was really thin and dull which did not appeal to me at all. That brown hard crust was unsatisfying and tasted like cardboard. The crunchiness made it hard to bite into but the taste made it hard to swallow. The cheese topping was dull making this pizza disgusting. The cheese was so lumpy and uneven it just didn't help the pizza. There was not enough sauce underneath, also it was weak in flavor. The aroma was plain ruining the pizza even more. It didn't really smell pleasant just boring kind of like paper. This pizza was just nasty making it less enjoyable than the other pizzas.

Overall, the homemade fluffy delicious pizza was the best out of all the all three pizzas. Even though the pre-made crust pizza was sweet and yummy the homemade pizza beat it out by having better texture and aroma. Obviously the frozen pizza was the least pleasing being just so dull gross. Therefore, the homemade pizza was the best out of all three pizzas.

Cheese Pizza Critique

When comparing pizzas, it is important to look at the texture, taste, color, and aroma. I tried 3 different types of cheese pizzas and compared them to see which type was the best. The first type was a completely homemade pizza. Next was pre-made, store bought dough with toppings added. Last was Roma's frozen cheese pizza. I recorded all of the components above and created a chart comparing the 3 types of pizzas.

The first pizza that I tried was the homemade one. It was rich with flavor and topped with creamy mozzarella cheese. The pizza was a bit greasy, but this added to the delicious flavor. The texture was very soft however the crust was done to perfection. The crust had a lot of flavor but seemed a little too salty and doughy on the bottom. The aroma of this pizza was fresh and flavorful. The texture was thoroughly cooked all the way through. Overall this was the best pizza with the most rich flavor, decadent texture, and sweet aroma.

The second pizza that we ate was the store bought dough with the topping put on after the dough was cooked. This pizza for the most part was deliciously flavored all the way through. Although the mozzarella cheese on the top was very flavorful, there was too much added and it made it taste too heavy and cheesy. The aroma of the pizza was very mild, almost scentless. The texture was a little bit crunchy and almost hard to chew. This pizza was decent however not completely mind blowing.

The last pizza that I tried was Roma's frozen cheese pizza. This pizza was bland, boring, and tasted a little too much like cardboard. It had an almost burnt flavor to it, although from the outside the pizza didn't look burnt. The texture was extremely thin and tough. The aroma of the pizza was odorless and tasteless. Overall this pizza was very gross, and I would not eat it again if given the choice.

Pizza Critique

Pizza Food Critique

I'm going to start off by saying that the Frozen pizza seemed simple and cheap, however it wasn't even bad. The frozen pizza had the most appealing colors with a Dark Brown look & many more toppings than the Pre Made Crust & the Homemade White Crust. It was thin, I recommend this too people who like their pizza crispy and crunchy, because it had a nice crispy texture which I love, and a crispy pizza is always acceptable. The thing that I didn't really like about the Frozen Pizza was the Aroma, the aroma of the pizza wasn't really acceptable, it was kind of like a cardboard smell, but in the end I will always love Frozen Pizza despite it's awful aroma, the taste is always wonderful. I'd rate this a 7/10.

The Pre Made Crust was my least favorite of them all, it didn't taste as good as the Homemade & Frozen pizza,  It didn't make me want to have more, it tasted oily, but the whole pizza was overpowered by the Tomato Sauce, which isn't bad because I love Pizza Sauce so, I just didn't taste most of other ingredients, but I would still recommend this too people who love their Pizza Sauce. The cheese had a nice aroma & had an appealing white color too it, it was also pretty thick, & you could tell because every bite made the cheese slip off of its crust. I rate this a 6/10

The last Pizza that I liked the best was the Homemade Crust Pizza, It tasted the best, the taste was perfect. As to the Pre Made crust, this pizza wanted me to have more, it was cheesy & had the perfect amount of tomato sauce. The look of the pizza was a light golden crust with a nice white cheese. The texture of the Pizza was light & fluffy, mostly because of the crust which made the whole pizza have a nice chew too it. The smell was delightful, smelled like a delicious pizza & also tasted like one too, I would recommend everyone to try a homemade pizza. I would give this a 9/10.

                      Homemade Pizza
When doing the pizza taste test we tasted a homemade pizza, a store bought crust pizza, and a frozen pizza.Out of the three pizzas we tasted the one that I liked the best was the homemade pizza. The warm, airy, crispy crust and the soft, vibrant sauce is the reason that I liked the homemade pizza the best. When we were comparing the three pizzas in my opinion the homemade one had the best appearance, taste, and texture. After tasting all three pizzas the homemade pizza had the best crust because it was soft and airy but was also crispy too. Most people like to  have really greasy, soggy pizza but for me I like to have my pizza in between soggy and crunchy and the pizza that had exactly what I like was the homemade pizza.
                    Premade Crust Pizza
When I tasted the store bought crust pizza it wasn't my least favorite but I did not like the flavor or texture in the pizza. The crust on this pizza was very dry, hard, and had little flavor. When making a homemade pizza you can control home much flavor you want but when you buy a store bought crust you have no control over the flavor in the crust. The crust was very bland and was very thin and soft with no crunchiness to it at all.
                         Frozen Pizza
This pizza was my least favorite pizz. The hard crunchy crust and the soogy, goopy cheese was overwhelming the pizza. The hard crispy crust was too hard to chew and the rest of the pizza was soggy, greasy and clumpy. Overall throught this taste test I found that I prefer the homemade pizza or the the premade pizza crust pizza over the frozen pizza.
