Pizza Food Critique

This critique is based on a scale of one to ten, one being trash-can worthy and ten being the thing that finally allows me to pass on.

Compared to homemade and frozen pizzas, bagged crust pizza is incredibly inferior. It only really looks good, maybe decent. However, biting in tastes like an elevator trip to punishment. It didn't smell like anything at all. The cheese was old and dull tasting, and biting into the crust felt very strange, because there was a lack of flavor in it. An overall terrible experience, which I wouldn't want to touch again with a 10 foot pole. It easily takes the lowest spot at a score of 3. In contrast, the frozen pizza.

Frozen pizza looked very familiar. A flat layer of tomato, some grease, and a flat layer of cheese, burnt around the sides and equipped with a cracker-thin crust. It smelled cheesy, but not too much. It tasted, not jaw dropping and inspiring, but more or less what I feel would be standard in a pizza. Everything that should be there is there. Cheese tastes like cheese. Tomato sauce is there. It all tasted pretty flat and boring. The score this pizza deserves is a 6, because like it or not, it's pizza, and it doesn't taste bad. There was not much special about it, and it seems to sit at a midpoint between the bagged crust pizza and the homemade pizza.

The homemade pizza was a new experience to me. Starting with the aesthetics, the pizza had a very odd look to it. It looked pumped up, kind of like a balloon, and the cheese was only half-draped over it, resembling a half-made bed. Some was burnt over and it admittedly didn't look appetizing. Then, I smelled it. The aroma had a very punchy smell to it. The herbs insulted my nose and I could smell the tomato sauce. Biting in was great. The pizza was very light and fluffy, and it tasted fantastic. The sauce had a certain zesty tang to it, and the herbs actually tasted like something. The thing that really dragged this down was the color and the appearance however, as it looked a bit burnt on the side and somewhat pale compared to the bag mix and the frozen pizza. This pizza takes a 8 for the reasons above.
