Pizza Critique

Pizza Critique

In class we tasted tested 3 different types of pizza. Homemade pizza ,pizza from a bag mix and a frozen pizza.

Homemade White Crust Pizza:
On a scale from 1 to 10 the homemade pizza earned a whopping 10. This thick, golden crusted cheesy pizza is one to remember. This delicious pizza had the perfect crunch when you took your first bite,it made my mouth beg for more. The texture was a smooth crust and a bubbly effect on top from cheese. The taste was divine. From the first bite I could taste the spices,Parmesan, oregano, basil and the layer of cheesy mozzarella. Although I could not taste the sauce at first it kicked in with the second bite the rich creamy tomato sauce the blended perfectly with the soft but yet golden crust. The color of the pizza was a lighter gold crust with a white gooey cheesy top. The smell was something I would smell at a restaurant such as the black sheep pizza place and not a pizza hut or domino's. The pizza smelled fresh as if the ingredients were freshly picked for each pizza. The overall appearance gets 5 stars.

Pizza From A Bag Mix:

On a scale of 1 to 10 the pizza from a bag mix gets a 7. The crust was lightly browned and very flimsy that not everyone likes when they eat pizza. The crust was soft in the inside and kinda grainy. Not my favorite texture when eating pizza. The cheese was not evenly distributed and some parts had the perfect amount of cheese but some parts had barley any and I love to have a taste of cheese in every bite so that was kind of disappointing. The sauce was exceptional,it wasn't the freshest but it also was not bitter. The flavor was not the best and freshest but it was defiantly better then the frozen pizza that I tasted next. For the overall appearance the pizza from a bag mix got 3 and a half stars, enough for a referral to others but nothing to rave over.

Frozen Pizza:

On a scale from 1 to 10 the frozen pizza earns a 3.Although this is the pizza that me and my friends go to for a late night snack or a quick lunch, I never really though to compare this frozen item to a handcrafted homemade pizza. Now that i have compared them i see a drastic difference in taste , scent, appearance and texture. This frozen pizza is as flat as the card bored it sits on.There is no volume from the crust the cheese is burnt very easily and once you cut the pizza all the cheese moves together and is very thick. The sauce what very little there is taste like cardboard as well.No spices are tasted, just a bitter pasty taste. The overall appearance gets 1 star out of 5 it is an awful sight to compare to the decadent homemade pizza.
